Transportation Notice: Monday Evening Nov 7: Thank you for your patience today as we navigated even more winter weather that challenged and frustrated all of us. Tomorrow morning, Tuesday, Nov. 08, we can expect that some routes will be challenging, and some might be impassable. We cannot predict tonight with full accuracy what roads will be like in the morning, so we ask you to return to this site in the morning. Our goal always is to provide transportation information on Facebook and our websites by 6:30 am. Our schools will be open, even when some staff are unable to navigate the roads, because we know that many parents depend upon us. While we currently hope that all routes will run in the morning, it may be prudent for rural families to consider alternative plans if the rural portion of routes cannot be driven.
UPDATE 6:05 am – November 07, 2022 All of our schools are open, but snow accumulations and blowing snow will dictate that some buses might be compromised today. In all of our other communities, we expect buses to run, but we anticipate that developing winter conditions might cause some to run late. Please do not leave children unattended at bus stops, and please ensure that they are dressed appropriately for the conditions. Please read below for transportation updates specific to your community. Even where we initially determine that rural buses can travel, individual bus drivers have the authority to cancel rural routes if they determine that local conditions may be unsafe. In the case that a rural route is cancelled, Southland Transportation will contact families. In-town stops will still be accommodated. CTR will continue to monitor the road conditions throughout the day. Visit the “Bus Status” link in the top right corner of our website, at www.redeemer.ab.ca for up-to-date bus route information. Students and staff driving to school should use extra caution and plan for additional travel time. Oyen – The School is open. Bus drivers expect to run their routes. In the event that a driver cannot complete his or her route, parents will be contacted. Due to winter weather and road conditions, there may be delays. Students and staff driving to school should exercise caution giving them extra time.
We want to invite all our families and community members to Catholic Education Sunday! A Children led Mass begins at Sacred Heart Parish at 11am this Sunday! All are welcome!
